Accused drug dealer arrested in Echuca

AN ECHUCA man accused of drug, burglary and driving offences is behind bars.

Detective Senior Constable Troy Wickham of Echuca Criminal Investigation Unit said police arrested Nicholas Cumming on Friday in High St, along with a 24-year-old woman.

"He was found in possession of a quantity of drugs," he said.

Cumming was charged with trafficking a drug of dependence, burglary, theft, theft of a motor vehicle, evade police and dangerous driving.

The 28-year-old is accused of breaking into a storage facility in Stawell St between July 26-28 and stealing a vehicle and power tools.

"The car was recovered at a property in Moama," Det. Snr Constable Wickham said.

The driving charges related to an incident in Echuca on Thursday morning, he said.

Cumming was remanded in custody over the weekend and appeared in Bendigo Magistrates Court today.

He was further remanded to appear in Echuca Magistrates Court on September 11.

The woman was charged with possessing methamphetamine and bailed to Echuca Magistrates Court on October 22.
